Vang Vieng
Situated 150km from Vientiane Capital, Vang Vieng is a small city surrounded by rivers and mountains, making it one of the most beautiful places in Laos. Popular with backpackers, the main activities and attractions are caves, tubing and trekking to the Hmong hill tribe villages.
   
Backpacker's Paradise
Although Laos is becoming more modern every day, the country is still the quintessential backpacker’s paradise. When you visit Vang Vieng, you will see an exciting and colorful backpacking scene value for money, backpacking is still a popular.
   
Tubing in Vang Vieng
Tubing is the art of gliding downstream on a river perched on a rubber tube in varying states of intoxication. Vang Vieng is the place to enjoy this fun-filled pastime.
   
Tham Jang Cave
Tham Jang, in Vang Vieng, is a large cavern that was used in defense against marauding Chinese Ho (Jin Haw) in the early 19th century (Tham means cave, Jang is steadfast) A set of stairs leads up to the main cavern entrance.
   
Bath in the Nam Song River
Although the Nam Song River in Vang Vieng is hardly the Ganges – which is a good thing because it’s less crowded and not so dirty – bathing in the Nam Song river has become a bit of an iconic thing to do when visiting Laos. Every evening, you will see many locals bathing in the Nam Song River.
